MILITARY-TECHNICAL COOPERATION GOES ON The last April week of 2007 truly became days of India for PA "Strela". A respectable delegation from this republic visited the association within military-technical cooperation for the supersonic cruise missile "Brahmos" production. On April, 25, 2007 the association CEO A.M. Markman met with a joint venture "BrahMos" specialist, Mr S. Venugapalom concerning pre-supply inspection. Also, the "Strela" employees met a group of experts from India and Moscow colleagues from the Scientific-production Association "Mashinostroeniye". The foreign delegation was represented by 9 people. Five Military Representative Office employees, the head of the Technical PJ Complex Control 10 Servicу in Haydarabad and 3 specialists from Corporation «Godrej and Boyce», Mumbai, where military production is established. In addition, the delegation was DRDL Project Quality Vice-Manager (city of Haydarabad) Virender Kumar Nayar. As is known, the military-technical cooperation between our countries is successfully developing. It is no longer limited to just selling equipment, and acquire new modern forms. Nowadays in India a joint supersonic cruise missile "Brahmos" production is deployed. Close contacts are brought in between the PA "Strela" and Indian partners for the project success. Our specialists regularly visit the republic, providing practical assistance to foreign counterparts in the sophisticated production development. In its turn, the Indian delegation are often guests at the PA "Strela". Experience exchange, familiarity with technical documentation, basic missiles units production - this is not a complete list of issues of foreign specialists interest. Today, the Indians settled down to exploit of serial products "BrahMos" assembly. For the republic military production is a fairly new section of work, so the Indian professionals have to master all the technology from scratch. The last delegation visit purpose was the meeting with a quality control system at all stages of production. The visit schedule included theoretical lessons in training center and visiting the shops. Visitors were acquainted with the basics of quality control by managers and leading specialists of PA "Strela" (vice-manager Chubachuk V.K., Kubitz A.A., chief technology officer Isak I.F., assistant chief engineer Oleinik S,V,, assistant chief technologist Plyuschikov V.A., chief metrologist Alekseev S.A.), heads of departments. Foreign colleagues showed great interest, asked many questions. At their request, the theoretical part of the program was reduced in order to spend more time in the shops for producing motors, cables, materials heat treatment, assembly of the product main section - F3 and others. - We really like the way your company organizes work, - says the project for quality DRDL vice-manager (city of Haydarabad), Virender Kumar Nayar. - The accompanying documents are neatly carried out, each operation is put down in accordance with the process requirements. We saw literate professionals who love their work, who are responsible for it. We received satisfactory answers for all our questions. If colleagues could not provide information at once, they were ready to answer the next day. The visit was very productive for us. We learned a lot of new interesting things, especially liked the quality control documentation. I am in Orenburg for the third time. We were received very well: accommodation, food, people's attitude - everything was nice! At present, the missile BrahMos has already adopted by Indian naval and land forces. It is planned to expand the product scope and to use it in the Air Force. On April, 22, 2007 another test of Indo-Russian supersonic cruise missile "Brahmos" was conducted along the coast of Bay of Bengal in the Indian state of Orissa. Launch took place at Chandipur training area at 11:21. The head of the joint Russian-Indian organization "BrahMos" Dr. Sivathanu Pillai evaluated the start as "just perfect" and "completely successful" and noted that "the launch demonstrated high reliability and new operational characteristics of the rocket needed for ground forces." |
